Due to unforeseeable reasons we have decided to change our chassis partner for the
junior category at the Rotax MAX Challenge GRAND FINALS 2008.
Pls. join us in welcoming ZANARDI, a great kart chassis and an even greater name behind
this chassis brand. Alessandro (Alex) Zanardi, multiple Champcar race winner, F1 pilot as
well as a great personality who came back to racing after a heavy stroke of fate.
We all hope to get the chance to personally meet Alex Zanardi during the Grand Finals in

ON THE DASHBOARD OF NIKI URWIN’S KART IS A STICKER WRITING WITH
A SIMPLE SLOGAN: “RIDE RACE LIVE”

FOUR YEARS AGO the professional Tauranga motocross rider was left paralysed in a
racing accident and it was touch and go whether he would survive. The ensuing battle to
beat death left him with a fierce determination to once again dominate in an elite sport.
Now, in only his third season racing karts, flying at dramatic speeds inches above
the ground, he has already outperformed everyone’s expectations - including his own.
Within a year of that first race meeting, Niki was lining up on the finals grid of the national Rotax 125 light kart championships. Qualifying in third spot and surrounded by the best
kart drivers in New Zealand, vastly more experienced than he, Niki raced to sixth place,
the best performance ever by a driver in his rookie season. The kart has been set up
with hand controls for the brake and throttle. This way he only use 2 fingers on each paddle and the rest of his hand can remain stationary and gripping the wheel. It means that he
can push and pull on the wheel to help with chassis handling which you cannot do with
a twist grip.
When it comes to the seat they are still working to perfect the right balance. Because
of the height of his paralysis the only thing that he feels is the steering wheel.
This makes feeling adjustments to the chassis a little tricky sometimes.

LATEST DECISIONS REGARDING KARTING.

"The World Council has approved the following international Karting Series: Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, the single event of which will take place at Muro Leccese (Italy) on 27-30 November 2008."

The awesome track in La Conca was chosen to host the ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE
GRAND FINALS 2008 due to the world class facility as well as the very experienced organisation team.

Several European, International and Worldchampionship karting events took place in
La Conca and a lot of today's Formula 1 drivers have competed there.

a new international series under the patronage of the ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE
as well as the NACAM federation.

This series will allow central/latin american drivers to show there skills on an international
level, while being basically open to drivers from any nation.

Races will be held on the famous Autodromo la Guacima in Costa Rica in the categories
125 MAX / 125 JUNIOR MAX and 125 MINI MAX.

It is our pleasure to announce the date and location for the ROTAX Grand Finals 2008.
Most likely a lot of you already know as communications in karting community simply

The event will take place
on 27. - 30. Nov. 2008
at the awesome track of
La Conca International circuit in Muro Leccese / Italy.

We are proud having entered a cooperation with Mr. Luca de Donno representing the
La Conca Sporting Club to host the Grand Finals 2008.
Mr. Luca de Donno being the organizer of the WSK international karting series as well as several CIK European and World championships is one of the most experienced event organizers in the karting business driving one of the most modern kart tracks.
We are all looking forward coming to Italy to experience the famous Italian hospitality and
would like to thank in advance the La Conca Sporting club and its partners for their efforts
and enthusiasm.
With respect to questions about the climate there, pls. be informed, that the track of
La conca is in the southern part of Italy (approx. 1000 km south of for example the track of Lonato at lake Garda) and it´s one of the warmest and driest regions of Europe.
The track of La conca in Muro Leccese is located close to the sea (10 km) south
of the cities of Brindisi (next airport) and Lecce.

Former Red Bull F1 driver Scott Speed joins ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE
Gary Carlton (U.S. ICC national champion), Scott Speed (two-time SKUSA SuperNationals champion and former Red Bull F1 driver) and Alex (three-time U.S. ICC national champion) Speed confirmed for Florida Winter Tour IRMC being a part of the international ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE program. The Trio will race ROTAX 125 MAX DD2 against reigning Grand Finals 2007 and North American champions

Carlton and the Speed brothers will face a considerable challenge if they wish to knock off
the current North American aces in the DD2 category. They’ll face the likes of SRA Karting’s Pier-Luc Ouelette, who recently captured the 2007 DD2 class at the ROTAX MAX Challenge GRAND FINALS. Making the FWT competition all the fiercer will be the presence of United States DD2 champion Stuart Marsell and U.S. runner-up Brandon Marsell. This event will also mark the first time the Speed brothers have competed against each other in official competition. With 21 other drivers already registered for the DD2 class there is guaranteed to be plenty of action for all. The winner of the series will qualify for the ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE GRAND FINALS 2008, the "battle" can begin!
